FAQs for Temps

On your first payday you will receive an email from a company called ‘Offshore Payroll’. This is your companion for all things related to pay – breakdown of costs, contributions and gross taxable pay.

The email link will be sent to the email you provided to ASL on your registration form, please check your ‘junk’ folder if you have not received the link directly to your inbox.

Following the link will allow you to create a password, and Offshore Payroll is also available as an App once you have an account.

‘TimeTemp’ is the go-to for all things timesheet. TimeTemp is available as an App in the app store and will be linked to your registered email address.

To fill in a timesheet, from the TimeTemp landing page click the ‘+’ icon in the top right corner next to the notifications bell.

You will receive multiple options, but ‘Add Timesheet’ is the one you want.

Clicking this will open up the menu to log hours.

Highlight the days you worked using the tick boxes down the left-hand side and input the hours related to those days, including the length of your break.

Your timesheet can be filled in all at once and submitted using ‘submit’ on the bottom right of the screen, but you can also ‘save draft’ of your timesheet if you wish to complete it day by day and come back to it.

You are entitled to claim public holidays on your timesheet if you work the ‘working days’ either side of it.

For example, if a public holiday is a bank holiday Monday, then you will need to have worked the prior Friday and the following Tuesday to be entitled to payment.

If you are entitled to payment then, when completing your timesheet, fill in your hours for that day as normal. Under ‘Day Type’ in the timesheet form select ‘Public Holiday’.

Please note that Public Holidays do not include the 6% holiday pay that your regular working hours have included.

You are always paid one week in arears, with weekly pay being distributed on the Friday of each week. Regardless of what day you start on your first week, you will be required to fill in a timesheet for that week, which is processed the following Monday to be paid on Friday.

This also means that, when you have finished your assignment and worked your last day, you will still have one more payday for that placement the following Friday.

Also sometimes called a “background check,” a pre-employment screening is a verification of your information and background. Employers can use screenings to determine if you can handle sensitive or confidential information and to assess skills that are relevant to the position.

All temporary employees undertake pre-employment screening as part of their onboarding with us. This includes DBS checks, Right to Work, employment screening, highest education / professional qualifications and any gaps in employment are investigated.

When a placement is made, we will start a DBS check which will be delivered to the email inbox of the email you registered with. This online form will ask for information to be provided which accounts for three years of your professional and personal history.

If you are unable to work you must inform ASL at your earliest convenience, and we will contact your employer to pass on the information.

Should you have been placed in a role that requires you to start before 9 o’clock please contact your line manager in your role to inform them as soon as possible, as they may be waiting.

You are entitled to annual leave if you wish to take it. As you are paid the 6% supplemental in your pay, time off is unpaid for the period of time that you are off for.

To request leave, open TimeTemp and click the ‘+’ icon you would normally use to submit a timesheet, this time pressing ‘request leave’. This request will go to your manager for approval.

Holiday Pay is a 6% supplemental added to your hourly pay. This equates to 15 ‘holiday’ days out of 260 ‘working’ days per year. Therefore, you are accruing holiday pay as you earn. Furthermore, you are not entitled to the 6% Holiday Pay for any public holidays.
